A world-famous stone and plate lithographer, Stanley Jones' whole life has been devoted to printmaking. He lectured in lithography at the Slade School of Fine Art in London, and has worked at the Ecole de Beaux Arts and Atelier Patris in Paris, where he worked with artists including Giacometti, Le Moal, Sugaii, Severini and Soulages. He helped set up The Curwen Studio (one of the first open-access studios available for artists with help from an on-site, technically-expert printmaker), which since 1958 has enabled artists to explore the medium of lithography. Until recently Stanley Jones has been President of the Printmakers' Council, and he continues to pursue his own career as an artist. His lithographs and paintings are held in both public and private collections all around the world.

Stanley Jones
